The Church of St Micheal de Rupe
The Church of St Micheal de Rupe

Built on top of the 1130 foot high pinnacle
of Brentor. The Church of St Micheal de
Rupe dates from the 13th century. If you visit here you could also visit Wheal Betsy they are very close to each other, if l had known that earlier l need not have gone there twice, but it was worth it, by the way l must inform you that this church is still in use.
They say Dartmoor is full of strange events and mystery, well what happened when l arrived here is not a mystery but was strange.
A friendly gentleman walked past and asked if l had taken any good photos when l gave my reply he informed me l spoke with the same accent as his good friend whom he visits often in Durham, l asked where that was and he said Willington and l told him that was where l was from, at first l dont think he believed me so l described the village, he told me his friends wife was a dinner lady at a school nearby but could not remember the name, after naming a few it turned out to be the school at Sunnybrow where l had gone as a child and had lived next to all my school days, he then walked off with his dog.
They say Dartmoor is a large Moor but it goes to show its a small world.
